The Beginning

In 2009, after more than a decade of dedication to music creation and lyrics composition, Nestor made its move to professionally record and publish his work. Having a varied experience with different recording studios and producers when the project started helped greatly to fine tune the Latin alternative rock concept/sound pursued. During that time Nestor's nickname "Nao" easily developed into the artistic name, given its simplicity and ties with the writer. Finally in June 2011 a full album was released titled Nao or Never.

The Band

With the release of the album, Nestor was blessed to count with good friends, which happened to also be crazy passionate musicians, who joined him right after as NAO loyal members. These "characters" are Carlos Irizarry, bass player, Ramon Marrero, electric guitar, Charlie Davila, drums and Pepe Blondet, percussion.

The Creator

NAO is a Latin alternative Latin rock band from San Juan, Puerto Rico, founded by songwriter Nestor "Nao" Santiago, guitarist and singer of the band.

On November of 2011, the album's featured song "Na", won the Latin category at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards held in LA, California. After this first success, the band began to gig out in full, performing frequently in recognized local traditional venues and music festivals.

By mid 2012 the amount of pre-produced new material was non-stop. With the gained experience and exposure from live performances, which helped polish NAO's Latin alternative rock style, the band built the needed confidence and desire to went back to the recording studio to produce a second album.

In early 2013 the album Right Nao was released with an improved distinct Latin sound mark in NAO's music. The first commercially produced video was also released for the album's featured song "Eres Tu".
